Chinese ink painting and Chinese calligraphy (the art of writing)have always been allied arts in Chinese art & culture, They use the same equipment and share similair aims, techniques, and standards. Bamboo has been written and also been painted in the same manner, in other words, a work depicting bamboo is both a painting and a piece of calligraphy.
In this workshop, we will be learning how to paint a simple bamboo art piece.
Learn the skills and techniques of traditional Chinese ink painitng. You'll be guided by the studio's artist step-by-step through experimenting with Chinese paintbrushes, rice paper and be introduced to a typical Chinese painting theme -bamboo.
-Discover the history and philosophy behind Chinese painting and learn about the major differences between Chinese and Western Art.
-Learn about the symbolic meaning of bamboos in Chinese art & culture
- Learn about the major painting tools and equipment used in Chinese painting
-Experiment with different Chinese artistic tools and and paper
